Professional services firm PwC contracted Maritz Africa Intelligence to produce a thought leadership publication on the retail and consumer goods industries in 10 African countries. The aim of the publication was to offer the firm’s consumer-focused clients insight into the opportunities these markets present.


Leveraging its extensive industry contacts, Maritz Africa Intelligence interviewed dozens of company executives, both in-person and telephonically. Our writers in South Africa and Kenya travelled to five countries (Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Zambia, Tanzania and Ethiopia) specifically for this research. The finished 106-page document, titled So much in store, is a comprehensive overview of sub-Saharan Africa’s retail and consumer goods industries.
